This is the perfect luxury safari experience near Joburg
“Tshukudu is famous for its bushveld experience, the quality of game rangers, uniqueness of its African inspired cuisine and service. Overlooking a waterhole and savannah plain it is one of Africa’s most romantic bush lodges. ” ~ Tshukudu Bush Lodge
The lodge lies atop a koppie surrounded by the rise of the Pilanesberg mountains. This range is actually an ancient volcanic structure, and one of the largest of its kind in the world and circular in shape. The Park also lies in a transition zone and is a good mix of the Kalahari desert and lush Lowveld vegetation.
The lodge offers a romantic sunken bath, an open plan lounge and bedroom, with a fireplace and private balcony. And Tshukudu’s cuisine has a strong African influence prepared to five-star standards. A splendid selection of wines will provide you with the perfect accompaniment to your meal. At night you can get comfortable beside the blazing fire, enjoy the African sky and listen for the distant roar of lions.
High tea and meals are also served each day on the deck overlooking the plain and waterhole at the foot of the hill. Following your delicious high tea you are taken on a 2 – 3 hour game drive. In the morning, guests have an option of a game drive or a bush walk in the company of their experienced field guides. Due to the ecological zone and the small size of the Park, your game sightings could be increased. Game traverses below these plains, and big five sightings are the norm, rather than the exception!
