La Peschiera joins luxury hotel portfolio
“La Peschiera is an intimate and exclusive relaxing place, between the crystal clear waters of the Adriatic Sea, the Mediterranean vegetation and all the amenities of a 5 star luxury resort.”
A former fish hatchery turned luxury hotel, La Peschiera is an elegant seaside retreat on Puglia’s shores. Everything at this hotel celebrates the oceanic backdrop – the twelve rooms all have views of the Adriatic and inside the minimalist interiors are dotted with antiques and original artwork, the beds are draped with white linen, and thatched rooves and stone floors ensure they remain beautifully cool. The hotel offers seven pools, a private stretch of sandy beach and a spa that focuses on regenerating thalassic therapies. When it’s time to dine, the restaurant serves fresh seafood on a lantern-lit terrace beside the water. For a change of scene guests can head inland to the nearby Torre Egnatia and Grotte di Castellana, a spectacular set of caves just a few miles away.
Natural stone walls, thatched canopies and crisp, white interiors give La Peschiera a cool, calm look. But the oceanic backdrop takes the starring role. Gaze at the Adriatic from your terrace, dip your toes in the water at the hotel’s beach, or indulge in a sea-inspired spa treatment. There are seven pools to choose from, too – so no two days spent on a stylish sun lounger will be the same. When it’s time to eat, La Peschiera’s restaurant serves fresh seafood on a lantern-lit terrace right beside the water.
Beyond the shore-side beauty, there’s plenty to see and do. For a cultural fix, venture inland and you’ll discover Puglia’s countryside, peppered with fascinating sites or travel along the coast for the historic town of Monopoli. The archaeological wonders of Torre Egnatia and Grotte di Castellana – a spectacular set of caves – are just a few miles away. The UNESCO World Heritage town of Alberobello, with its enchanting cone-topped trulli, is well worth a visit too.
La Peschiera is a seasonal hotel and is now taking reservations for stays from 22nd April 2016.
SLH Insider Tip: Book into a Master Suite to take advantage of a private terrace with direct access into the sea.
