The most incredible whale watching photos

“This is your opportunity to marvel at the majestic humpback whales in their natural environment with the stunning Gold Coast skyline glistening in the background.” ~ Spirit of the Gold Coast Whale Watching

Photos by Mark Behr, Brisbane Australia who says, “We had a great morning looking for whales on the Gold Coast. This adult mum, and her baby made it known that we were insignificant in their presence!”┬áMany whale watchers have a bias towards humpback whales due to their atmospheric performances, and this is brilliantly captured by Mark in the below pics.

Brisbane Whale Watching

Humpback whales are known to travel exceptional distances during their seasonal migration, in fact the most extended migration of any mammal. They are found in all oceans from the equator to sub-polar latitudes. And, what is great for observers during migration, is that at this time humpbacks tend to treat observers by staying in close proximity to the surface.
